"Taste of the Nations" International Sabbath

The "Taste of the Nations" International Sabbath is a high-energy, all-day event designed to celebrate the cultural diversity within our congregation and the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church. It serves as both a member-retention strategy (building community) and a "friendship evangelism" event where members feel comfortable inviting non-Adventist friends to a joyful, non-threatening service.

Theme: All Nations, Kindreds, Tongues, and People (Revelation 14:6)

Program Highlights:

The Parade of Nations (10:45 AM): The divine service opens with a procession of flags representing every country of origin in our congregation. Members (especially children and youth) will march in traditional dress, placing flags at the altar to symbolize unity in Christ.

Multi-Lingual Worship:

Scripture Reading: Read simultaneously in 5 different languages (e.g., English, Spanish, Swahili, Korean, Tagalog).

Special Music: A choir showcase featuring an African gospel medley, a Latin American praise team, and a traditional island hymn.

The Message: A guest speaker focusing on the universality of the Gospel and unity in diversity.

The "Grand International" Potluck (1:00 PM): Unlike our standard potluck, this is organized by region. Tables will be set up around the fellowship hall, labeled by continent.

Asia: Stir-fries, noodles, and curries.

The Americas: Haystacks, empanadas, and corn bread.

Africa: Jollof rice, greens, and fufu.

Europe: Pastas, breads, and potato dishes.

Note: All food will be labeled with ingredients to accommodate dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten-free, nut-free).

Afternoon Cultural Concert (3:00 PM): After lunch, we transition to a relaxed afternoon concert. This is an open-mic style segment where families can share a song, poem, or instrument native to their heritage.

Goal: To strengthen the bonds of brotherhood within the church and provide a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere for 50+ visitors.
